A Few Words About Our Story

Launched at The Blagrave Arms, Reading, to provide a safe space for the LGBT+ community. A club night at The After Dark Club also took place but was not continued.

Club F.O.D organised a walking group in the Reading Pride Parade: one of the largest walking groups in the parade. Club F.O.D also held it’s regular club night on the same night to offer the only after party that was a dedicated LGBT+ night.

Being a community organisation that is dedicated to raising money for local LGBT+ projects, causes and charities, we wanted to arrange a fundraising weekend for Thames Valley Positive Support to mark World Aids Day.  A Club Night, Afternoon Tea and Cabaret Afternoon raised £1000.

At the start of the COVID pandemic, we knew that lockdown would leave people locked out so we launched regular live shows branded as Club F.O.D at Home

The restrictions mean that Reading Pride would not take place in 2020 so Club F.O.D organised Pride Inside in conjunction with The Blagrave Arms. That night we were able to announce that we had achieved registered charity status.

Club F.O.D realised that our online content would need to continue but we would our own equipment to make be able to continue. A grant application to the National Lotteries Community Fund resulted in us being awarded £10k

Thanks to the grant received from the National Lotteries Community Fund, Club F.O.D was able to secure relevant equipment and licensing to launch Radio F.O.D and F.O.D TV.
